Rider Testimonials

This ride has it all.  Incredible scenery, amazing support, friendly excited people, and challenges to test the best riders!  And it’s all for supporting worthwhile charities.   The rest stops were over the top and made taking the time to stop to check them out a must.  I can't say enough about the winetasting excursion on Sunday.  This is the best fun I've had on any ride ever!  Dave – Reno NV

The views are so spectacular. It is my very favorite Century ride. Great views and Challenging!  Gary – Rio Vista

I have done a number of organized rides, including the Levi Granfondo, Deathride, Davis Double, etc.  I've even sponsored my own ride, the MendoDeathride. When asked my favorite, I have to say Peddle the Puddle (I'm slow to adapting the name Konocti Challenge). Why? Because it is so well organized! The rest stops are far ahead of any other ride, all the volunteers are extremely helpful and full of great cheer. As an Internet provider, I'm also impressed with how well your online presence is handled. Looking forward to next year!  Jim – Ukiah

We were looking for a fall ride that would challenge us and motivate us to keep training. The Konocti Challenge 65-miler was a perfect choice. We enjoyed the camaraderie, varied terrain, wonderful lake views, and fun rest stops. We plan to go back next year and do the century! -- Andy & Lisa (father-daughter team) - South San Francisco

Usually we rush through our rides… a mild form of torture. But the rest stops were so great that we spent about 45 minutes at two of them. Why eat and run??? We met new bike friends, were well fed and even got some wonderful photos!!  Ginny – El Cerito

Was great! Four of us first-timers, never even been to Clear Lake. We stayed at an awesome (secret) location and are already planning our get-away for next fall. Not knowing what to expect, i packed my usual turkey bagel sandwich 'just in case'. It was my boyfriend's first century so i made him bring food, too. All we could do was laugh when we pulled into hospice services and had GRILLED GUYERE sandwiches?? AWESOME! Of course, the gypsies did not disappoint at the second rest stop. Smoothies in Middletown! Support our troops had an unbelievable oasis after the rollers, and the tyrants of Kelseyville did not disappoint. LOVE the festive atmosphere!  Juli – Olympic Valley

This was a very well organized event that was a blast. The rest stop competition made it an extra special ride. We can't wait for next year!  Jennie – Berkeley

The Konocti Challenge was so much fun. We always go up on Friday Night and have dinner and walk around the town. It is a fun get away from the city. And we look forward to it again next year. Thank you to all the people who organized this Challenge and all the volunteers that helped out. You guys are great! Joellen – Hayward

This was one of the most fun ride events I have ever attended and the wine event of Sunday just made it fabulous!!  Suzi  - Sparks NV

Perfect 100k course, with time to warm up for enough hills to challenge but not too hard to recover. Beautiful weather, scenery, majority of drivers very polite!  Great BBQ! Thank you.  Liz - St Helena

It was my favorite ride!  Last year, I did the 100 mile. I enjoyed it so much I had to bring my wife, who does not ride but we rode a tandem in the metric 100. I wanted her to experience the most entertaining and one of the most beautiful bike rides I had ever been on! The rest stops make it more than a ride. I would come just to ride around Clear Lake, but the rest stops make it a ride and a show at every rest stop. We had great time in Italy, a Gypsy camp, a Mash unit and a Wild West Saloon and we only hit 4 of the 7 rest stops! Great experience! I can't wait for next year!   David  - Medford OR

Everyone from the registration, to the rest stops, and the sags were terrific! Everyone was so friendly, helpful and just outright nice. The rest stops were absolutely outstanding. After the first one, we could hardly wait to get to the next one. It was like waiting for "Christmas" and unwrapping the best present ever! We weren't disappointed. The amount of work, time, and love that went into those rest stops was amazing. We were only sad that we couldn't have done the longer ride to see the other stops! HOT CHOCOLATE, WHIPPED CREAM, TOASTED BAGELS, LOLLIPOPS..........it just doesn't get any better! Thank you all for making it a memorable day for us.....we smiled all the way home!!! KONOCTI CHALLENGE, THE ORGANIZERS, THE VOLUNTEERS, THE FOOD, (even flush toilets) ROCK!!!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!   John & Carole - Windsor

This is the best ride.....we always put it on our must do ride list.....everyone is so friendly and helpful.....the rest stops were so much fun ....each theme was great and made it so much fun we hated to leave the rest stops...the after ride meal was the best steak I’d ever tasted truly an amazing experience...I couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable weekend!  Roxanne - Redwood City

Konocti Challenge is a great week-end getaway. Friendly, helpful staff and support. Great fun with the reststop competition and feeling so welcome all along the route! Beautiful Fall scenery to enjoy along the route for sure!  Lynn – Modesto

The Konocti Challenge is a beautiful, well supported ride. The Rotary Club of Lakeport does an outstanding job of catering to participants. Best of all, proceeds benefit charitable organizations! Joni – Stockton
